Mahmood Khan Achakzai Criticizes Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Calls for His Resignation

Islamabad, Pakistan:Mahmood Khan Achakzai**, the leader of **Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party**, launched a scathing criticism of **Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif** in his address at the **Stability of Pakistan Conference** in Islamabad. He accused the Prime Minister of exploiting the rights of the 250 million people of Pakistan, saying, *”Shahbaz Sharif, fear God! You recite the Kalma, yet you sit on the rights of 250 million people like a thief.”*

Achakzai expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the current political situation, remarking that **Pakistan has been under a government** for the last 16 months that has **no legitimacy among the people**. He further stated, *”This is our fault, as we are not organized. If we set ourselves right, this government would not last two months.”* He questioned why political parties were legitimizing this government despite its lack of popular support.

In his speech, he harshly criticized **Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq**, referring to him as the “root of all evil,” accusing him of being a puppet of the military. He continued, *”Lieutenant General Shahbaz Khan and the ‘Havaldar’ Speaker have become our masters. I will never shake hands with this Havaldar Speaker nor will I sit in his committees. A vote of no-confidence should be brought against him. He is a defeated individual. Our weakness is that we are not taking action against this man.”*

Achakzai also condemned the use of military power and money in Pakistan’s political system, stating, *”You claim to be against terrorism, but you have used the force of the army and the police, and the power of money to steal the mandate of 250 million people. Those who sell themselves are considered patriots, and those who don’t are branded as traitors. An American once said that Pakistanis would even sell their mothers for money, and that is what you have turned this country into.”*

The **Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party** leader called on **Nawaz Sharif** and **Shahbaz Sharif** to reflect on their actions and urged them to step down. He said, *”I still appeal to Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif on behalf of Pakistan: Fear God. This is not the time for ruling. This is the time for all Pakistanis to come together. Leave the government, resign, and let the generals, judges, politicians, and intelligence agencies come together for a round-table conference. Let us sit for three or four days and, invoking God’s presence, rid this country of its misfortune.”*

Achakzai’s fiery remarks underscored his belief that Pakistan’s political system is deeply entrenched in corruption, manipulation, and military influence, and he called for a united effort to overcome these issues for the betterment of the nation.
