DG ISPR Questions PTI’s Stance as Terrorists Attack Other Parties

*Rawalpindi:* Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), has questioned why the PTI has not been targeted by terrorists while parties like ANP, JUI, PPP, and PML-N have faced attacks.
Addressing a press conference, DG ISPR said that certain political actors are seeking to appear as the “favored choice” of extremist groups, while simultaneously asking Kabul for security guarantees. “They say military operations should not happen, and suggest sitting at the feet of terrorists. If military operations are avoided, should the extremists be accepted as rulers? Should Khawarji Noor Wali Mehsud be made Chief Minister of the province? There is no answer—only narratives,” he stated.
He criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for allegedly creating a political environment favorable to terrorism, calling out the provincial assembly for spreading false narratives. “People are being misled to believe the military is fighting for minerals or dollars. The military did not go with shovels to extract resources. Afghan Taliban carry out terrorism for dollars. Illegal mining is happening in KP, but resources exist throughout Pakistan. The state wants the benefits of these resources to go to the people of KP,” he explained.
DG ISPR emphasized that KP’s youth have sacrificed their lives for the country and condemned attempts to link their sacrifices to provincial minerals. He concluded by asserting that KP will not be handed over to terrorists, highlighting the role of other parties like ANP in standing against terrorism.
