Punjab Does Not Receive a Larger Share; Public Funds Are Spent on Public Welfare, Says Maryam Nawaz

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has rejected the perception that Punjab receives a larger share of national resources, stating that all provinces are given an equal share and that propaganda suggesting otherwise is misleading. She urged students not to fall for such narratives, emphasizing that public money in Punjab is spent solely on public welfare.

She expressed these views while meeting a delegation of the National Workshop Balochistan, which included male and female students from various educational institutions of Balochistan. During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz announced the provision of laptops to all students in the delegation and also presented them with traditional Baloch shawls.

The Punjab chief minister said that people from other provinces come to Punjab in search of employment and better opportunities, adding that Punjab has opened its doors to everyone. She noted that people from all provinces benefit from Punjab’s hospitals, colleges and universities. She highlighted that children from other provinces have also benefited from the Punjab Children’s Heart Surgery Program, while the 1,000-bed Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital was established not only for Punjab but for patients from across Pakistan. “We never differentiate between Sindhi, Punjabi or Kashmiri. We are all Pakistanis,” she said.

Maryam Nawaz acknowledged that differences in infrastructure and development between Punjab and other provinces are visible but reiterated that claims of Punjab receiving a larger share are baseless. She said Punjab has resources because public funds are utilized transparently for public welfare, which she termed the key difference compared to other provinces.

She further stated that good governance is the best form of politics, adding that politics is not about privileges and protocol but about serving the people with dedication and hard work.
