JUI-P Chief Naeemur Rehman Accuses PPP of Misgoverning Karachi, Misusing Rs 3400 Billion

**Karachi (Daily Qudrat):** Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, has accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of being anti-Karachi, claiming it was imposed through Form 47 and misappropriated Rs 3,400 billion. Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, he said that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s mission is to turn Karachi into a “Moenjodaro” due to mismanagement.
He criticized governance across all provinces, highlighting that Karachi’s issues cannot be compared with Punjab, where fund allocation and performance are more proportional. Rehman expressed concern over Sindh’s deteriorating situation, stating that PPP uses misleading narratives and fails to deliver on promises such as the K-IV water project, which should have been partly managed by the Sindh government.
He claimed that during PPP’s tenure, Rs 3,400 billion intended for Karachi were squandered and that large-scale public transport needs, like 15,000 buses, remain unmet. He further accused PPP of relying on political manipulation and fake governance while undermining public interests, particularly through imposing authority in Karachi via Form 47.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized that PPP’s artificial confrontations in Karachi, coupled with disregard for citizens’ rights, reflect its anti-Karachi stance. He said the party supports constitutional amendments when convenient but neglects public welfare, portraying Karachi as “Mini Pakistan” that has suffered due to PPP’s policies.
