**Karachi (Daily Qudrat)** – In a horrifying incident in Karachi’s Memon Goth area, a newborn baby was allegedly sold to cover hospital expenses. The baby was reportedly purchased by a woman who later sold him in Punjab for money.
According to details, Sarang, a resident of Nooriabad (Jamshoro), lodged a complaint at the Memon Goth Police Station stating that his wife, Shama, who had recently moved to her parents’ home after a domestic dispute, went to a private clinic with her mother on October 5 for a medical check-up.
At the clinic, **Dr. Zahra** allegedly recommended a cesarean delivery and demanded payment. When the family could not afford the cost, the doctor reportedly suggested that she knew a woman who wanted a child and would cover all medical expenses in exchange for the baby.
After the surgery, a baby boy was born and allegedly handed over to a woman identified as **Shama Baloch**, who paid the expenses and took the child away. When the father, Sarang, learned about the birth and arrived at the hospital, the shocking situation came to light. He suspected that his newborn son had been sold and demanded immediate legal action.
The case was transferred to the **Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC)** for investigation. According to **SSP Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada**, the AVCC conducted a raid in Punjab, recovered the baby, and reunited him with his parents. The private hospital involved has been **sealed**.
Police officials stated that **Shama Baloch**, a hospital employee, and **Dr. Zahra** jointly orchestrated the sale of the baby. Both suspects are currently **on the run**, and raids are being conducted to arrest them. SSP Pirzada confirmed that once apprehended, both women will be brought before the law to face serious charges.
