PkMAP Condemns Killing of Civilian in Harnai, Questions Security Despite Dozens of Checkposts

**Harnai:** The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the killing of a civilian in a firing incident at Tor Khan on the Harnai–Sanjavi Road, questioning how such acts of terrorism continue despite the presence of dozens of security checkposts in the area.

In a district-level press release, PkMAP said that armed militants blocked hundreds of vehicles and other transport at Tor Khan and opened indiscriminate fire on unarmed and innocent civilians, resulting in the martyrdom of a motorcyclist and serious injuries to another person. The party described the incident as a cowardly act and demanded immediate action against those responsible.

The statement noted that such incidents have continued since the very first month of the Frontier Corps (FC) deployment in Harnai. It pointed out that from Chaperlift to Spintangi and Tor Khan, at least 40 security checkposts are in place, equipped with heavy manpower, modern weapons, night-vision cameras, and other advanced crime-detection tools, along with an extensive intelligence network. Despite these measures, incidents of terrorism and fear-mongering have become a routine occurrence in what was once a peaceful area.

PkMAP alleged that the real objective behind such incidents is to create lawlessness in the region in order to displace local residents and seize control of natural resources. According to the statement, this plan has been in the making for several years, beginning with the creation of militant groups to spread unrest, followed by the deployment of security forces, and later the imposition of what the party termed as “Form-47 elections” to install fake representatives and prevent genuine public representatives from reaching the assemblies.

The party claimed that if true representatives of the people were present in parliament, they would not remain silent over alleged injustices, killings of innocent civilians, burning of coal-laden trucks and leases, and the abduction of mine workers for extortion.

The statement further alleged that the situation has deteriorated to the extent that incidents of house robberies and the abduction of local residents from their homes at night have also begun. PkMAP strongly condemned these developments and held the government responsible, questioning how it is possible that no suspect has been arrested or presented before the public despite the heavy deployment of FC, police, levies, and intelligence agencies.

PkMAP demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators involved in the Tor Khan incident, their exemplary punishment, and concrete measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
