Minor Rain Exposes Development Failures in Quetta, Risk of Epidemics: JUI

**Quetta:** Leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) in Quetta have expressed serious concern over the worsening situation in the city following recent rainfall. Addressing the media, Maulana Abdul Rahman Rafiq, Haji Ainullah Shams, Maulana Khurshid Ahmed, and other party leaders condemned the negligence of the district administration and provincial government, stating that even minor rain has exposed the shortcomings of development claims.
According to the statement, blocked drains, garbage piles, stagnant sewage water, and poor road conditions have made life difficult for residents, raising fears of potential epidemics. The leaders also highlighted prolonged unscheduled electricity outages, reduced gas pressure, and the lack of basic services as major sources of distress for the public.
JUI demanded immediate cleaning of drains, urgent removal of garbage, and uninterrupted electricity and gas supply. The party warned that if these measures are not implemented, they reserve the right to stage protests alongside the citizens, holding the provincial government and district administration fully responsible.
