“I Will Never Support Oppression; The Future of the Bugti Nation Lies in Education,” Says Bugti Chief Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti

Dera Bugti/Bakr Sui – Addressing the ceremonial turbaning event after being elected as the 8th Chief of the Bugti tribe, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti said he would never side with oppression and emphasized that education is the key to the future of the Bugti nation.

Speaking at the historic ceremony, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said the traditional turban placed on his head was not merely an honor but a great responsibility to serve the Bugti people and protect their rights. He stated that he would always stand with the oppressed and would never become a tool of tyranny.

Condemning recent acts of terrorism, the Bugti chief said that Baloch traditions do not allow violence against women, children, or innocent civilians. “Shooting loved ones in front of a grieving mother is not Baloch culture; it is sheer barbarism,” he remarked.

He issued a stern warning to those challenging the writ of the state, saying that such elements would be dealt with firmly. He stressed that no ideology can be imposed through the use of force. Addressing youth who have taken to the mountains, he urged them to abandon violence and instead contribute to the development and progress of their homeland.

Outlining his future vision, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said his top priority would be to empower the youth of the Bugti tribe through education. He pledged to focus on improving schools, hospitals, and basic infrastructure in the region so that the Bugti community could stand shoulder to shoulder with other developed areas of the country.

Earlier, a grand tribal jirga held in Bakr Sui, Dera Bugti, unanimously elected Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti as the 8th Chief of the Bugti tribe. During the central ceremony, his turbaning was performed by the grandchildren of Nawab Akbar Bugti, along with tribal elders, notables, and chiefs from various branches of the Bugti tribe. The historic event was attended by tribal leaders, members of assemblies, and ministers from Balochistan and Punjab in large numbers.
