HRT Neither Increases Nor Reduces Risk of Dementia: Study

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** A new study has found that Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) neither increases nor decreases the risk of dementia.

According to an analysis, no evidence was found linking medications used by menopausal women with either a higher or lower risk of developing dementia. The review was conducted by a team of researchers from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Switzerland, Australia, and China.

The researchers examined 10 studies involving more than one million women. The findings showed that HRT should be prescribed based on its benefits and potential side effects, rather than for the prevention of dementia.

Experts expressed hope that the results of this comprehensive analysis will help the World Health Organization (WHO) in developing and updating guidelines related to the treatment and management of the disease.
