Wasim Akram Appointed PSL Brand Ambassador, Key Announcement on Multan Sultans

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):**
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former national team captain Wasim Akram as the brand ambassador of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that Wasim Akram has been named the PSL brand ambassador, while the Multan Sultans franchise will be operated directly by the PCB this year.
He said the PCB is considering starting PSL 11 on March 23 instead of March 26; however, no final decision has been made yet. He added that the bidding process for PSL teams will be held on January 8 in Islamabad, and the final decision on the tournament’s start date will be taken in consultation with all franchises.
The PCB chairman further stated that the auction of Multan Sultans will take place after the conclusion of the PSL, emphasizing that the board remains committed to improving cricket in the country.
Mohsin Naqvi also stressed the importance of media support for the promotion of sports, saying he would speak to the Minister for Information to ensure greater coverage of sporting events on news channels.
Responding to a question, he said that if India chooses not to shake hands during matches, Pakistan has no desire to do so either. However, he added that the PCB plans to write to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding any inappropriate conduct.
