Islamabad Traffic Disruptions Due to Foreign Team’s Arrival on February 27, 2025

Islamabad:Due to the arrival of a foreign team, exceptional security arrangements will be in place on several key routes in Islamabad from 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM today. These routes include Krall Chowk, Express Highway, Khanna Bridge, Faizabad, Club Road, Murree Road, Faisal Avenue, and Ninth Avenue on Srinagar Highway. As a result, traffic flow on Express Highway and Srinagar Highway may face temporary delays and slower movement.
The Islamabad Traffic Police has advised residents to use alternative routes such as underpasses and the service road connected to Srinagar Highway to avoid traffic congestion. Citizens are encouraged to leave their homes at least 20 minutes earlier than usual to ensure a smooth journey.
Traffic from Express Highway should consider using Khanna Bridge or Park Road. While the routes around Islamabad Chowk and IJP Road will remain open, drivers coming from B17 and B15 areas towards Blue Area or F-6 are advised to use Margalla Road. For those heading to Blue Area, Ninth Avenue and the H-8 underpass are recommended.
Traffic heading towards the Red Zone should use Margalla Road, Express Chowk, Ayub Chowk, and Nadra Chowk. To travel from the Red Zone to Faizabad, drivers are instructed to use the Convention Center and Club Road.
The Islamabad Traffic Police will be present at various locations to assist with guidance during this time. For any issues or further assistance, citizens can contact the traffic helpline at 1915 or check the police’s social media platforms for timely updates on traffic routes.
