JUI-P Leader Abdul Wasi Awaits Fazlur Rehman’s Call as Government Nears Collapse

**Loralai:** Senator and Provincial Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-P), Maulana Abdul Wasi Awaz, stated that the current government has failed and will not survive much longer. Speaking in Loralai at an event in Kalli Zarkariz, he said the public is waiting for Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s call to take to the streets.

He criticized political interference by the establishment, describing it as unacceptable. Referring to the postponement of Quetta’s local government elections, he said some parties sought a delay through the courts after witnessing their defeat. “We were set to achieve a clear majority on December 28 and will participate fully whenever the elections are held,” he added.

Maulana Abdul Wasi emphasized JUI-P’s commitment to democratic struggle, stating that the party does not believe in gaining power through force but through parliamentary processes and elections. He criticized the government for selling institutions instead of addressing mismanagement and corruption, citing the privatization of PIA for Rs 135 billion as an example.

He praised Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s leadership, noting that he is the most popular leader in the country. “The governor of Sindh awarding him an honorary PhD shows that neither the government nor Parliament can function without him,” he said.

Abdul Wasi also welcomed recent contacts with PTI and other parties, urging the opposition to unite against what he called the fraudulent February 8 elections. He warned that under the current government, the country faces political instability, economic hardships, rising unemployment, and increasing terrorism.

He concluded by reiterating that dialogue in politics remains open, but the government’s continued failure will leave the people looking to Maulana Fazlur Rehman for leadership and guidance.
