Pakistan Strives for Advancement in Space Sector, Says Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has said that Pakistan is actively working to advance in the space sector, emphasizing that quantum technology will determine future global competitiveness.
Speaking at the AI Rise Expo 2025, Ahsan Iqbal stated that under the Udaan Pakistan initiative, pillars of e-Pakistan are driving the country’s digital transformation. He announced the establishment of three new national centers for quantum computing, nanotechnology, and new manufacturing.
He added that Quantum Valley Pakistan will become the hub of the deep-tech economy, with the government aiming to equip the nation with cutting-edge technology. He highlighted that artificial intelligence is poised to become a new engine of Pakistan’s economic power, and nations leading in technology will drive the global economy.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the government’s Udaan Pakistan Vision has formulated the e-Pakistan strategy, where exports, digital economy, and innovation form its core pillars. He stressed that robotics is essential to modernize Pakistan’s industries.
The minister further stated that the government is linking university research with industry and exports, while strengthening sectors such as satellite technology, food, trade, and communications. He emphasized that Pakistan is determined to become a competitive nation equipped with advanced technology.
