PTA Makes SIM Registration in User’s Own Name Mandatory

Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has made it mandatory for all SIM cards to be registered in the name of their actual users.
According to a report by a private TV channel, Geo News, the PTA has directed subscribers to ensure that all SIMs are registered under their own names, declaring the use of SIMs registered in someone else’s name as illegal.
The authority stated that full responsibility for any misuse of a SIM will rest with the registered user. Subscribers will be held accountable for the use of their SIMs and telecom connections.
The PTA further emphasized that compliance with regulations regarding calls, messages, and data usage is mandatory. In case of violations, legal action may be taken against the concerned individuals.
