Balochistan Leaks: Cyber Crime Officials Summoned Over Character Assassination of Lawmakers, Crackdown on Blackmail Ordered

The Balochistan Assembly has taken strict notice of an alleged campaign of negative propaganda and character assassination against members of the provincial assembly through a social media page titled “Balochistan Leaks.”
On the ruling of Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, officials of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) were summoned to brief the House on the matter. Leader of the Opposition Younas Aziz Zehri and other members, including Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, Noor Muhammad Dumbar, and Ali Madad Jatak, termed the campaign a conspiracy aimed at undermining the credibility of democratic institutions.
During the briefing, cyber crime officials informed the assembly that action has been initiated under Sections 20 and 26-A of the relevant cyber laws. The Speaker, in clear and strong words, stated that the Balochistan Assembly would not be subjected to blackmail and that those responsible would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
The House emphasized the need for decisive action against those involved in spreading false information, intimidation, and blackmail through digital platforms, reaffirming its commitment to protecting democratic values and the dignity of elected representatives.
