Won’t Allow Any Conspiracy to Delay Local Government Elections, Public Urged to Vote on December 28: Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal

**Quetta:** Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Central General Secretary Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal has said that his party has always been a staunch supporter of democracy and continues its struggle for the protection of the Constitution, constitutional supremacy, rule of the people, equality of nations, and the establishment of a truly democratic federation.

Addressing inauguration ceremonies of election offices and corner meetings in connection with the local government elections in Quetta district, Ziaratwal said that under the leadership of party chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai, PkMAP is actively struggling on the platform of the Tehreek Tahaffuz‑e‑Aain Pakistan to safeguard the Constitution and end interference of institutions in politics.

He appealed to the people of Quetta to exercise their democratic right to vote on December 28 for the establishment of local government institutions, stating that effective local bodies are essential for resolving public issues at the grassroots level.

Party leaders informed the gatherings that candidates are contesting the local government elections in all four towns of Quetta under the platform of Tehreek Tahaffuz‑e‑Aain Pakistan, and town committees have also been formed. They stressed that it is the collective responsibility of workers of all allied political parties to run a joint election campaign to ensure the success of their candidates.

The speakers pointed out that Quetta has remained without local government institutions for the past 13 years, resulting in mismanagement, alleged corruption, and the misuse of municipal properties. They warned that efforts are once again being made to delay the local government elections, similar to past violations of the Constitution.

Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal alleged that attempts are being made by what he termed a “Form‑47 government” to influence the electoral process through the use of state resources and deprive the people of their true representatives. He said that thwarting any conspiracy to postpone the elections is the responsibility of the public, urging voters to come out in large numbers on December 28 and defeat such attempts.
