ISPR Press Release on Faiz Hamid Case Does Not Mention Imran Khan: PTI’s Sheikh Waqas Akram
*Islamabad (Daily Qudrat):* PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram has clarified that the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release regarding the Faiz Hamid case does not mention the name of PTI chairman Imran Khan anywhere.
Speaking on a current affairs program, he said, “When the inquiry itself does not reference Imran Khan, what response can PTI give? This is an internal matter of the military—handled by the army and generals.”
Sheikh Waqas Akram further stated that respected allies Allama Nasir Abbas and Mahmood Achakzai are part of PTI’s political committee, and their opinions are given due consideration. He added that the PTI core committee consists of nearly 80 members, and the political committee’s size was reduced for operational purposes. He emphasized that portraying this internal restructuring as a sign of discord within the party is entirely incorrect.
