Sheikh Rashid Stopped from Leaving Country at Islamabad Airport Despite Court Permission

Islamabad:Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former interior minister **Sheikh Rashid Ahmed** was stopped from traveling abroad at **Islamabad International Airport**, where he was scheduled to depart for **Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah**.
According to airport sources, the **immigration authorities offloaded** Sheikh Rashid despite his claim that the **Lahore High Court’s Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan** had granted him permission to travel for Umrah.
Speaking to the media at the airport, Sheikh Rashid said,
> “Justice Sadaqat Ali of the Lahore High Court had allowed me to perform Umrah, and a copy of the court’s order was sent to all concerned institutions. The court had clearly directed that there should be no obstruction.”
He expressed strong disapproval over being stopped, adding,
> “I will approach Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan’s court for contempt of court. In a country where even the High Court’s orders are ignored, one can only look to the heavens. Allah will take me for Umrah, and those responsible will regret their actions.”
The incident has raised questions about the implementation of judicial orders and the coordination between law enforcement and immigration authorities.
