Former Punjab Chief Minister Mian Manzoor Wattoo Passes Away

Lahore: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Manzoor Wattoo, has passed away.
Mian Manzoor Wattoo had served in several key positions, including Chief Minister of Punjab, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs.
His funeral prayers will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, December 17, at 2:00 PM in Haveli Wasawy Wala, Okara. The PPP leadership from Central Punjab expressed deep condolences over his demise. Former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that party leadership and workers stand with the grieving family in this hour of sorrow. Hasan Murtaza prayed for ease in the late leader’s final journey.
Mian Manzoor Wattoo served as Punjab Chief Minister in 1993. He had been affiliated with multiple political parties throughout his career: Pakistan Muslim League (1985–1993), Muslim League Junejo (1993–1995), Pakistan Muslim League Jinnah (1995–2002), Pakistan Muslim League Q (2002–2008), Pakistan Peoples Party (2008–2018), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (2018–2020), and rejoined PPP in 2020.
His political journey and contributions to Punjab’s governance earned him recognition across the country.
