Afridi Welcomes Accountability of Faiz Hameed, Calls for Action Against All Who Harmed the Country

*Islamabad (Qudrat Daily)* Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi has welcomed the accountability of former DG ISI Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed, stating that everyone who has caused harm to the country should also be brought to justice.
Talking to journalists after an event in Karachi, Afridi said that although it was not his place to comment, he was pleased to see accountability being carried out against Faiz Hameed and other officers. He added that it was encouraging that the Pakistan Army had initiated the accountability process from within its own ranks.
“Now, whoever has damaged the country should also be held accountable,” Afridi said, adding that he was proud of the Pakistan Army and held it in high regard.
Commenting on the addition of two new franchises in the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the former captain said the move was positive as it would create more opportunities for players. He described the PSL as Pakistan’s own brand and said the PSL roadshows were proof of its growing popularity.
Sharing his views on the national team’s future, Afridi said Pakistan did not need further experiments at this stage. He stressed that the team should be finalized for the World Cup, adding that he personally was not in favor of changing players during series ahead of the mega event.
Responding to a question about Pakistani cricketers participating in Australia’s Big Bash League, Afridi said it was a good opportunity as it would help players gain valuable experience.
