Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Rejects New Hiring in Quetta Metropolitan During Local Elections, Warns of Legal Action

Quetta: The Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly opposed ongoing recruitment in the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) during the local government election period, warning that the practice could influence the electoral process.
In a joint statement, PkMAP Provincial Senior Vice President and District Quetta Secretary Syed Sharaf Agha, along with members of the district committee, said that despite the announcement of local body elections in Quetta, the continuation of new appointments by the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation amounts to an attempt to affect the fairness of the elections.
The party demanded that the recruitment process be immediately suspended so that, after the elections, the duly elected local government institutions can fill these positions in a transparent manner and strictly on merit.
The statement pointed out that interviews are scheduled to begin from December 19 under Advertisement No. AB No. 399/22-102025, while another advertisement, No. AB No. 522/02-12-2025, has also been issued for recruitment to dozens of small and large posts. The party urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to take immediate notice of the matter.
PkMAP leaders also called on the Administrator Quetta to place these appointments on hold until further orders to ensure transparency in the local government elections and to prevent any influence on public opinion.
They warned that if the recruitment process is not halted, the party would be left with no option but to approach the courts for legal redress.
