Veteran Politician Lashkari Raisani Slams Federal Apathy Toward Balochistan, Criticizes Major Parties for APC Walkout

Islamabad:Senior politician and former senator **Nawabzada Haji Mir Lashkari Khan Raisani** has said that his political struggle is rooted in **parliamentary democratic means** to raise a voice against the **injustices faced by Balochistan**. Speaking to the media outside **Islamabad Press Club**, Raisani criticized the **two major ruling parties** for **boycotting resolutions** during a recent **All Parties Conference (APC)**.

Raisani expressed frustration over what he described as the **ineffectiveness of Parliament and its subsidiary institutions**, saying they have failed to address the pressing issues of Balochistan. Highlighting the ongoing protest by **Baloch women**, he said:

> “Women from Balochistan have travelled over 1,000 kilometers and have been staging a sit-in in the federal capital for the past month — yet the state’s system and attitude remain indifferent.”

He cited this indifference as the reason for **resigning from the Senate**, which he did in protest of Islamabad’s approach toward Balochistan.

Answering a question, Raisani shared details of his political journey, noting that he served as a **provincial minister for two and a half years**, during which he also faced **detentions and restrictions**. He later served as a **Senator**, but ultimately stepped down due to what he described as **systemic neglect and dismissiveness** toward the concerns of Balochistan.

> “We are political people engaged in peaceful, democratic struggle. Our aim is to raise our voice through any available forum against the injustices meted out to our province,” he asserted.

Raisani’s remarks underscore the **growing discontent among Baloch leaders** over lack of representation, governmental apathy, and failure to address deep-rooted grievances — even as peaceful protestors continue to demand justice in the heart of the country.
