Women’s Representation in Federal Jobs Stands at 5.83 Percent

Islamabad — Fresh statistics on women’s representation in federal government employment have come to light, showing a significantly low share of female employees across federal institutions.
According to official documents, a total of 31,455 women are currently employed in federal ministries, divisions, attached departments, subordinate offices, and constitutional bodies. The report states that across 38 ministries and divisions, there are 581,581 employees in total, including 550,126 men and 31,455 women.
This means women constitute only 5.83 percent of the federal workforce. To obtain updated and comprehensive data, the Establishment Division has issued a new directive to all ministries and divisions, seeking detailed reports on the implementation of the mandatory 10 percent quota reserved for women in federal jobs.
