Violence Against Parliamentarians and Opposition Leaders Reflects Dictatorship, Says Maulana Fazlur Rehman

**Lahore (Daily Qudrat)** — JUI-F chief **Maulana Fazlur Rehman** has strongly condemned the use of force on peaceful, constitutional protesters outside Adiala Jail, calling it a deeply regrettable act. He said that meeting detained individuals is the **constitutional right** of their family members.
In a statement, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that violence against parliamentarians and opposition leaders is a clear sign of **authoritarianism**. He added that democratic traditions are being ridiculed, and the mistreatment of women during the incident is contrary to **Eastern and Islamic values**.
He noted that the assault on women protestors reminded the nation of the violence once inflicted on the late **Kulsoom Nawaz**. Maulana Fazlur Rehman warned that the country’s political environment is rapidly moving toward chaos and confrontation, stressing that Pakistan’s fragile economy and overall conditions **cannot bear further instability**.
