Victory Monument Ceremony

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Victory Monument in Islamabad, established to commemorate Pakistan’s victory in the recent “Battle of Truth.”

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif attended the inauguration.

Contingents of the armed forces and civil armed forces, as well as contingents from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, participated in the ceremony. Police contingents from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan also attended.

Service chiefs, federal ministers and foreign diplomats were among the distinguished guests.

The national flag was hoisted at the Victory Monument, with the president, prime minister and field marshal participating in the flag-hoisting ceremony.

The event presented a strong display of national unity, solidarity and cohesion. The Victory Monument was described as a symbol of Pakistan’s national history, the success achieved in the “Battle of Truth,” the sacrifices of martyrs and veterans, and the nation’s unwavering resolve.
