Schoolteacher and 10-Year-Old Son Shot Dead by Unidentified Gunmen in Kalat

**Kalat:** A tragic shooting incident occurred in Balochistan’s Kalat district where unidentified armed assailants opened fire, killing a schoolteacher and his young son. The attackers managed to flee the scene after the assault.

According to police sources, the gunmen targeted residents of Kheil area, resulting in the death of 10-year-old Muhammad Ikram, son of Master Ghulam Sarwar of the Zehri tribe, on the spot. His father, Master Ghulam Sarwar Zehri— a teacher at Government Boys High School Chobdar — sustained critical injuries.

The child’s body and the injured teacher were immediately shifted to the hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, Ghulam Sarwar was referred to Quetta for advanced treatment, where he later succumbed to his wounds.

The deceased teacher was closely related to several prominent members of the Brahui literary community, including Executive Member of Brahui Academy Pakistan, Mohsin Brahui, Amanullah Zehri, Master Ali Akbar Zehri, and was the cousin of Master Abdul Sattar Zehri.

The motive behind the attack remains unknown. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
