PTI Can Engage in Dialogue Only If It Distances Itself from Imran Khan’s Narrative: Atta Tarar

Islamabad:Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar has said that the government is willing to hold talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) only if the party publicly declares that it does not support the narrative of its founder, Imran Khan.
In a statement, Tarar warned that if Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohaib Afridi attempts to visit Adiala Jail, he will be turned back from the first checkpoint. He further added that if Imran Khan’s sisters arrive at the prison, their arrest *cannot be ruled out*.
In a televised interview, the information minister stated:
> “We cannot allow anyone to put the country at stake.”
He reiterated that the government will only engage with PTI if its leaders clearly distance themselves from the confrontational line taken by their jailed founder.
Tarar reminded that two days earlier he had already made it clear that:
* **No one will be allowed to meet Imran Khan**, and
* **No gathering or crowd would be permitted outside Adiala Jail.**
The remarks highlight growing tensions between the government and PTI as the political standoff continues.
