PTI Rejects DG ISPR’s Press Conference, Calls Allegations Baseless

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has strongly rejected the statements made during the DG ISPR’s recent press conference, dismissing all allegations as unfounded and politically motivated.
In its official response, PTI said that labelling Imran Khan as a threat to the state is a narrative detached from reality. The party stated that turning a state narrative into a political dispute undermines national unity, and treating dissent as hostility contradicts democratic values.
PTI emphasized that intervention by state institutions in political matters disrupts constitutional balance, while aggressive language against elected leaders only fuels political tensions. The party stressed that recent statements prove the need to remind institutions and the government of their constitutional limits.
The statement added that Pakistan is already facing terrorism and economic challenges, and priorities must be set accordingly. Targeting a single individual, PTI argued, cannot change the political realities of the country. The party reiterated that its founder has always maintained that a strong army means a strong Pakistan.
Criticizing the Sharif family’s silence during recent Indian aggression, PTI called it “regrettable and inexplicable,” noting that even from prison, Imran Khan had unequivocally supported the armed forces. The party said that objections to the appearance of Imran Khan’s sisters in the media reflect double standards, recalling past interactions of PML-N leaders with Indian journalists.
PTI maintained that its founder defended Pakistan globally in the most effective manner and raised the Kashmir issue at international forums with historic resolve. The party said branding political disagreement as an enemy narrative is equivalent to closing democratic doors.
Addressing key national issues such as economic crisis, IMF policies, remittances, and alleged electoral fraud, PTI said these are purely political matters. Treating every statement of a political leader as a security threat, the party argued, paves the way for political victimization. The use of derogatory language against PTI’s founder, it added, is an insult to the political consciousness of the nation.
The statement reiterated that under the Constitution, the true source of power is the people, and on February 8, the public gave PTI’s founder a clear mandate which was later distorted through Form-47. PTI claimed that national and international bodies have acknowledged the violation of this mandate.
The party also criticized the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments, calling them attempts to undermine the sanctity of the vote and judicial independence. PTI said its founder consistently chose constitutional avenues, but powerful individuals refused to accept his mandate and stance. According to PTI, actions against its founder serve only to distract from the government’s failures.
PTI further stated that institutional involvement in political disputes harms national interest and state equilibrium, while the DG ISPR’s harsh and political tone does not align with the military’s professional traditions. The party accused PML-N of initiating political controversy over recent notifications, with contradictory statements from government ministers exposing internal conflicts.
Rejecting government claims about media freedom, PTI said that Imran Khan’s name and image remain censored, which violates basic principles of free expression and access to information.
Concluding its statement, PTI said that true stability lies in respecting public mandate, ensuring free and fair elections, and upholding the Constitution. The party warned that political crises will persist until the people’s verdict is fully acknowledged.
