Islamabad (Daily Qudrat) — Under the vision of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the provincial government has achieved a significant milestone in establishing a modern, safe, and high-quality transport system. The Quetta Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project agreement was signed between the Balochistan Transport Department and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), paving the way for a revolutionary transformation in the capital city’s transport system.

On December 5, 2025, at a prestigious ceremony held in the Economic Affairs Division in Islamabad, Secretary Transport Department Hayat Kakr signed the Project Readiness Financing Agreement for the Quetta BRT feasibility study on behalf of the Balochistan government. The event was attended by Dr. Sajjad Baloch, Director of the Balochistan Traffic Engineering Bureau, officials from the Economic Affairs Division, and other relevant authorities.

The agreement will facilitate the introduction of an efficient and modern public transport system in Quetta, reducing traffic congestion, improving urban mobility, and promoting sustainable city development. The provincial cabinet had approved the agreement in its October 16, 2025 session, and today’s signing marks a major step toward the project’s practical implementation.
