Quetta in Ruins, Customs Officials Breaking Locks at Night: Lawmakers Demand Action, Quetta Project Director Summoned

*Quetta (Daily Qudrat):* Members of the Balochistan Assembly have expressed outrage over the deteriorating condition of Quetta city and the behavior of customs officials.

During the session, Public Accounts Committee Chairman Asghar Ali Tareen said that customs officials break locks of shops and warehouses late at night to seize goods, while no action is taken against them at the border. He also criticized the incomplete construction of Quetta’s Bilyali Road and Bypass Road, highlighting the lack of alternative routes for the public.

ANP’s Engineer Zamrak Achakzai said that Quetta has been disrupted, with numerous check posts causing severe inconvenience to residents.

Taking notice of the complaints, the Panel of Chairpersons summoned the Director of the Quetta Development Project to brief the assembly. Additionally, law enforcement agencies were instructed to respect the official vehicles of assembly members, including those displaying identification cards and flags.
