DHA Quetta: Not Just a Housing Scheme but a Modern City with 41% Cheaper Electricity for Businesses; Green Bus Service to Start Soon – Brigadier Nadeem Sarfaraz

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) – Brigadier Nadeem Sarfaraz, Administrator of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Quetta, stated that DHA Quetta is not merely a housing scheme but a modern city equipped with all essential facilities, including housing, healthcare, education, sports, and opportunities for trade and industry. He made these remarks during a meeting with officials and members of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The session was attended by prominent business leaders including Haji Ghulam Farooq Khelji, President Haji Muhammad Ayub Miryani, Senior Vice President Haji Akhtar Kakr, and other representatives. They welcomed the DHA officials and emphasized that DHA Quetta represents the future of the city, with the business community negotiating for investment and participation in residential, commercial, and industrial opportunities.

Brigadier Sarfaraz highlighted that DHA Quetta aims to provide modern amenities comparable to international standards. Director Ali Shafi briefed participants that the city will ensure uninterrupted security, electricity, gas, water supply, health services, education, and recreational facilities. DHA Quetta currently has 8 megawatts of active electricity grids and water reserves sufficient for 12,000–13,000 households for 15–20 years.

To encourage investment, DHA has converted the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) into a Defence Industrial Zone (DIZ) and will offer businesses up to 41% cheaper electricity. The DIZ will provide opportunities in electric vehicles, battery manufacturing, cold storage, IT, and other sectors.

Additionally, work on an SNG gas plant is set to begin in the coming months, and the Green Bus service will soon provide transport connectivity within DHA Quetta. The meeting concluded with the Quetta Chamber of Commerce presenting a commemorative shield to Brigadier Sarfaraz.
