Dera Bugti Faces Outbreak of Cough and Fever; Three Children Die in Pir Koh and Zin Koh

Dera Bugti (Daily Qudrat) – The district is witnessing an outbreak of cough, throat inflammation, and fever, with three children reported dead—two in Pir Koh and one in Zin Koh. These areas, along with Siah Af, are now considered the most affected regions. The deaths, including two girls, were reported yesterday.

District Health Officer Dr. Azam Jan Bugti stated that drought and seasonal changes across Balochistan, including Turbat, are contributing to a rapid rise in cases of fever, cough, and throat infections. In response, the Balochistan Health Department announced that additional medicines would be supplied province-wide starting Sunday.

Pir Koh’s BHUs will begin evening shifts, while two extra doctors have been assigned to Dera Bugti DHQ. Health mobile teams will regularly visit Siah Af and Zin Koh starting tomorrow. All medical staff on training have been recalled immediately.

Health experts emphasized that drought and changing weather conditions play a key role in the spread of these illnesses. Authorities have urged the public to take precautionary measures to protect children from harsh weather.
