US Media Warns Pakistan and Afghanistan Moving Toward a New Wave of Military Confrontation

Washington: Pakistan and Afghanistan appear to be heading toward a new phase of military confrontation, according to a report published by the American newspaper *The Washington Post*.

The report states that India’s increasing diplomatic and political engagement with the Taliban has intensified tensions between Islamabad and Kabul. Citing recent developments in Asia, *The Washington Post* noted that New Delhi’s growing interaction with the Taliban is contributing to heightened friction between the two neighboring countries.

According to analysts, both Pakistan and Afghanistan seem to be moving closer to a renewed military standoff. This tense backdrop includes a recent airstrike in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, which resulted in the deaths of several people, including nine children. Mourning families were seen burying their loved ones in the aftermath of the attack.

The rapidly evolving dynamics in the region have not only complicated border security but have also triggered a new contest for influence among regional powers.
