Air Ambulance Crashes in Jharkhand’s Chatra District, Seven Feared Dead

An air ambulance traveling from Ranchi to New Delhi crashed in Jharkhand’s Chatra district on Monday night, with seven people on board, according to Indian media reports.

The accident occurred near the Simaria area of Chatra district while the aircraft was transporting a patient for medical treatment. Officials said the plane went down in a densely forested region, making immediate access to the crash site difficult.

The Deputy Commissioner of Chatra stated that due to the challenging terrain, authorities have not yet been able to officially confirm fatalities. However, chances of survival for those on board are said to be slim.

According to initial reports, the aircraft made contact with air traffic control in Kolkata at 7:34 p.m., but communication was lost shortly afterward.

Rescue teams have reached the crash site and emergency operations are underway. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
