Court Orders De-Sealing of Shaukat Khanum Hospital and NAMAL University Accounts

Rawalpindi: An anti-terrorism court has ordered the de-sealing of bank accounts belonging to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and NAMAL University.
During the hearing, the prosecution raised no objection to restoring access to the accounts. Prosecutor Zaheer Shah told the court that if the hospital and university accounts were de-seized, the prosecution had no reservations.
He informed the court that the prosecution had earlier requested the State Bank Governor to freeze accounts based on the ID card details of Aleema Khan. The prosecutor added that apart from Aleema Khan’s personal and business accounts, they had no objection if any other accounts were frozen or released.
Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the hearing, while Aleema Khan was represented by her counsel, Muhammad Faisal Malik.
