How to Use One WhatsApp Number on Two Phones at the Same Time

Islamabad — A common limitation faced by WhatsApp users is that an account can typically be used on only one phone at a time. If a user tries logging in with the same number on another device, WhatsApp automatically logs out from the first phone. Unlike Telegram and other messaging apps that support multiple devices simultaneously, WhatsApp users have long awaited a similar feature.

Fortunately, WhatsApp now allows you to use the same phone number on two or even more phones at the same time through its “Linked Devices” feature. Although simple, many users are still unaware of how it works.

Here’s how you can set up one WhatsApp number on two phones simultaneously:

1. **Update WhatsApp on both phones.**
2. Open WhatsApp on the second (or new) phone.
3. On the login page, instead of entering your phone number, tap the **three-dot menu** in the top-right corner.
4. Select **“Link a device.”**
5. On your primary phone, open WhatsApp, go to **Settings**, and tap **Linked Devices**.
6. Use your primary phone to scan the QR code shown on the second device.

Once the QR code is scanned, your WhatsApp account will start working on the second phone just like WhatsApp Web. All messages and data will sync across devices. However, the primary phone must remain nearby at least once every 14 days to keep the link active.

Using this simple method, you can conveniently use the same WhatsApp number on two — even three — phones at the same time.
