Over 1,000 Palestinians Killed in West Bank by Israeli Forces and Settlers in Two Years: UN

Geneva: The **United Nations** has reported that over **1,000 Palestinians**, including **233 children**, have been killed in the occupied West Bank by **Israeli forces and settlers** over the past two years.
At a press conference in Geneva, a spokesperson for the **UN Human Rights Commissioner Volker Turk** stated that since **October 7, 2023**, a total of **1,030 Palestinians** have been killed in the region, highlighting a marked increase in violence over the last two years, with perpetrators largely **unaccountable**.
The spokesperson expressed shock over the **public killings of two Palestinians by Israeli border police in Jenin** on Thursday and called for an **end to impunity** for the illegal use of force by the Israeli army and escalating settler violence. He emphasized the need for **prompt, independent, and effective investigations** into these killings.
According to a report by the **UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)**, violence in the West Bank continues unabated, with daily **loss of life, property damage, and displacement**. Since the start of this year alone, over **1,600 attacks by Israeli settlers** have resulted in **severe casualties and financial losses** for Palestinians. More than **1,000 Palestinians** have been injured, primarily from **physical assault, stone-pelting, or tear gas exposure**.
The report notes that around **700 Palestinians were directly injured by settlers**, with the remainder wounded by Israeli forces. This figure is almost **double the number of Palestinians injured in settler attacks in 2024**, highlighting a worrying escalation in violence.
