Professor Arrested for Harassing Female Student at Faisalabad Agriculture University

Faisalabad: The police have arrested Professor Yahya Khan from the Burewala campus of Faisalabad Agriculture University for allegedly sexually harassing a female student and making indecent gestures. District Police Officer (DPO) Wahari, Muhammad Afzal, took notice of the incident.

According to police reports, a case has been registered against the professor under five sections of the Pakistan Penal Code—509, 292, 293, 294, and 354—on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Dilshad at Sheikh Fazil Police Station.

The incident came to light after a video went viral allegedly showing the professor making inappropriate gestures and sexually harassing the student. The university administration confirmed that the student had submitted a written complaint on October 31.

The administration stated that Professor Yahya has been suspended and barred from entering the university campus. The harassment committee under the Vice-Chancellor is conducting an inquiry, and no final report has been issued yet.

The viral video reportedly captured the professor making inappropriate remarks to the student, including asking, “What will you give me if I add 2 extra marks to your papers?”
