JUI Rejects 27th Constitutional Amendment, Plans Protests and Coordination with Other Parties

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat):** Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari, Central Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and member of the National Assembly, announced that the party’s central council has completely rejected the 27th Constitutional Amendment. The party has decided to take to the streets in protest and coordinate with other political parties to ensure a strong response.
In an official statement, Haidari emphasized that JUI is a political, religious, and democratic party that has always worked for public welfare, both inside and outside Parliament, defending the rights of the people. He criticized the government for introducing legislation that, instead of serving public interest, harms citizens while serving the personal interests of a few.
Haidari described the 27th Constitutional Amendment as detrimental to the public, claiming it deprives ordinary citizens of basic livelihoods. After a detailed two-day central council meeting, the party concluded that the bill is against the people’s interests. JUI has resolved to reject the amendment and, after consultations with other political parties, will develop a comprehensive strategy to protest against it.
