Sindh Achieves Significant Progress in 30 Years, Murad Ali Shah Urges Citizens to Stay in Country

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the province has made substantial progress over the past 30 years and expressed his desire to provide opportunities so that skilled professionals do not leave the country.
Addressing a seminar organized by the Sindh Higher Education Commission at a local hotel, CM Shah highlighted the province’s achievements in the health sector, emphasizing that the government aims to further strengthen healthcare services.
He noted that the Sindh government is cooperating with the Higher Education Commission and stressed the importance of linking industry, academia, and research to meet global industry demands.
“Our talented people often seek opportunities abroad. We want to provide them the same facilities, education, and healthcare within the country,” he said.
CM Shah also spoke about the partnership with Indus Hospital, praising their efforts and commitment. He announced that Jinnah Hospital, which has expanded significantly over the past decade, will receive $15 million in funding towards a $35 million Emergency Tower project.
Upon his arrival, CM Shah was welcomed by HEC Chairman Prof. Tariq Rafi, Dr. Saroosh Lodhi, HEC Secretary Moin Khan, and other officials.
In a separate interaction with the media, Murad Ali Shah emphasized that protests and road blockages are not appropriate means to inconvenience the public. He expressed respect for lawyers, noting that his father was also a lawyer.
He said that anyone with concerns regarding the 27th constitutional amendment can approach the courts, adding that lawmaking is the prerogative of Parliament. He explained that the creation of constitutional courts was a demand of lawyers, which Parliament fulfilled.
Highlighting the success of public-private partnerships (PPPs), CM Shah said, “Through PPPs, we are completing more projects at lower costs. These are among Sindh government’s best initiatives.”
Regarding upcoming political matters, he stated that the NFC Award meeting is scheduled for December 4, though the agenda has not yet been received. He also mentioned that he has not yet reviewed the draft amendments to the Local Government Act, and any changes will be made in consultation with all political parties. He noted that former PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto included all stakeholders in the 26th and 27th constitutional amendments.
