Field Marshal Asim Munir Reaffirms Armed Forces’ Resolve Amid External Threats

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Asim Munir has stated that despite externally supported terrorism and evolving challenges, Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully committed to safeguarding national security.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), participants of the 27th National Security Workshop visited the General Headquarters (GHQ). The National Security Workshop—an important program of the National Defence University—brings together parliamentarians, senior civil and military officials, and representatives from academic and social sectors.

During the visit, participants were briefed on national measures against illegal activities, operations targeting drug trafficking, and organized criminal networks. Updates on improved border controls and the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals were also provided.

Addressing the workshop, Field Marshal Asim Munir said that intelligence agencies and law enforcement institutions are demonstrating exceptional professionalism and dedication in ensuring national security. He highlighted the rapidly changing regional environment, rising geopolitical competition, cross-border terrorism, and hybrid warfare tactics as key challenges.

He emphasized that Pakistan is an important country and determined to attain its rightful place in the world. “The professionalism, spirit, and resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces have enhanced the nation’s prestige globally. Our greatest strength is national unity,” he added.

The Army Chief reiterated that the Pakistan Army’s top priority is the territorial integrity, security, and protection of every citizen. “There will be no compromise on national security or the safety of our people. We will, God willing, defeat all malicious designs of our enemies,” he asserted.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed full support to federal and provincial governments, stressing that lasting peace, stability, and prosperity require coordinated national efforts and institutional harmony.
