Dr. Rababa Khan Blidi Emphasizes Zero Tolerance Against Violence on Women, Calls for Societal Change

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat):** Dr. Rababa Khan Blidi, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan on the Women Development Department, highlighted the societal impact of violence against women, stating that it weakens not only individual lives but also the intellectual, social, and moral health of the entire community. Her remarks were made on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Dr. Blidi explained that all forms of violence—whether domestic abuse, harassment, threats, humiliation, or economic pressure—severely undermine a woman’s freedom, confidence, self-worth, and dignity. She emphasized that the challenges faced by women are not limited to physical violence but extend to societal attitudes, communication, environment, opportunities, and power dynamics.

“When women do not feel safe at home, at work, or in public spaces, it not only harms them individually but creates imbalance, uncertainty, and instability in society. A society that confines half its population in fear, oppression, or economic helplessness cannot progress,” she stated.

Dr. Blidi underscored that a civilized and aware society ensures protection, respect, and full autonomy for women in making decisions about their lives. She affirmed that the Balochistan government is fully implementing a zero-tolerance policy against violence on women through effective legislation, strengthening institutions, awareness programs, helplines, shelter homes, and support services. She also stressed that societal attitude changes are essential for safeguarding women’s rights and enabling them to live safe, dignified, and empowered lives.
