National Hero Arshad Nadeem Returns Home to Hero’s Welcome, Expresses Gratitude for His Victory

Islamabad – Pakistan’s javelin thrower and national hero, Arshad Nadeem, returned home to a grand welcome, with citizens showering him with flower petals in celebration of his remarkable achievement.
Speaking on the occasion, Arshad Nadeem expressed his gratitude, saying, “I thank God for granting me this success. The honor I received is a result of the prayers of the entire nation.” He added that due to an earlier injury, he had missed winning medals in previous competitions.
Arshad highlighted the challenges of winning gold after an injury, saying, “It was very difficult to achieve gold after my injury. My coach and I worked very hard, and this success is the result of that dedication.” He also thanked WAPDA and LESCO for their support, including providing him employment and grade incentives, which he described as highly motivating for athletes.
Additionally, Arshad acknowledged the Pakistan Sports Board Federation for their support and expressed his commitment to continue training for the 2026 tournament. Reflecting on his achievement, he stated, “Gold is gold, no matter the distance it’s achieved at, and training at this level after an injury is extremely challenging.”
Meanwhile, Yasir Sultan, who won a silver medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games, said, “I am very happy as this was my first medal. I will work even harder in future competitions.” He added, “Competing alongside such a top athlete creates pressure, but we both enjoyed the competitions thoroughly.”
