CM Maryam Nawaz Says She Would Resign if Accused of Favoritism, Promises Corruption-Free Punjab

Lahore – Punjab Chief Minister **Maryam Nawaz** has stated that she would **resign** if anyone claims she has recommended someone for a favor.

Speaking to participants of the **27th National Defence Security Workshop** in Lahore, she highlighted ongoing projects worth billions of rupees, emphasizing that no corruption complaints have been reported. “Punjab will be corruption-free in five years,” she asserted.

Maryam Nawaz also addressed economic issues, claiming that **inflation has dropped from 40% to 4%** and that **Punjab now generates 2,400 MW of electricity**. She expressed her aim to reduce the electricity unit cost to **Rs 16–17**.

Responding to past criticisms for not purchasing wheat, she said, “I faced criticism, slogans were raised against me at rallies, and I was jailed for standing with my father. Today, it is a matter of karma.”

She further emphasized that detractors would not succeed if they fail to bring her down, stating that **performance and results will be the answer to false accusations and abusive rhetoric**.
