Ancient Silver Cup from Occupied Palestine May Hold Mysterious Clues About the Origin of the Universe

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — A new study suggests that a 4,300-year-old silver cup discovered in occupied Palestine contains one of the earliest artistic representations of the origin of the universe.
The famous **‘Ein Samiya Cup,’** unearthed in 1970 from an ancient tomb in Judean Hill, was named after a Palestinian village in the occupied West Bank where it was found. The artifact dates back to the Middle Bronze Age, between 2650 BCE and 1950 BCE, a period marked by multiple nomadic settlements across the region.
The three-inch cup features intricate engravings, including a half-human, half-animal figure holding plants, alongside an astronomical symbol. The vessel also depicts snakes and mysterious beams of light.
Experts believe the cup may have been designed in southern Mesopotamia around 4,300 years ago, with the silver likely sourced from what is now Syria or Iraq.
Researchers say the engraved scene may represent one of the oldest known artistic interpretations of the universe’s beginning — portraying the transition from primordial chaos to the order of creation.
This discovery offers rare insight into ancient cosmology and early human attempts to explain the origins of existence.
