After Supreme Court Judges, Lahore High Court Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza Resigns
Lahore: Following the resignations of senior Supreme Court judges Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Athar Minallah, Lahore High Court Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza has also tendered his resignation.
Sources suggest that Justice Mirza was likely to be transferred after the 27th Constitutional Amendment. However, he chose to resign and vacated his chamber instead.
His decision comes shortly after the resignations of Justices Mansoor Ali Shah and Athar Minallah, which were accepted by President Asif Ali Zardari.
The moves come in the wake of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, triggering significant concern within judicial circles.
