Punjab Deploys Drones for Flood Rescue Operations Amid Escalating Crisis

Lahore:The flood situation in Punjab continues to worsen, with emergency evacuations underway in areas like **Jalalpur Pirwala**, where residents are being moved to safer locations. In a significant technological step, the provincial government has now begun using **drones** to aid in rescue operations.
According to details, **Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif** announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that **Punjab has become the first province in Pakistan to use drones** for the evacuation of citizens trapped in floods.
> “Drones have been deployed in Multan and are capable of carrying up to **200 kilograms of weight**,” she stated.
The use of drones is expected to speed up rescue efforts and provide critical support in areas that are difficult to access by traditional means.
