PTA Launches VPN Service Licensing to Ensure Secure and Legal Access

Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has officially launched the licensing process for Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to ensure secure and regulated access across the country.

According to details, PTA has begun issuing class licenses to companies providing VPN services, with more than five firms already receiving approval. These licensed companies will now be authorized to offer VPN services strictly for legal and legitimate purposes.

Consumers will also be able to obtain VPN services directly from PTA-licensed providers, ensuring compliance with national regulations.

PTA stated that the initiative aims to streamline the availability of secure and legal VPN services, improve regulatory oversight, and enhance cyber security. The move is expected to facilitate users while strengthening Pakistan’s digital safety framework.
