Schedule Announced for Local Government Elections in Quetta

QUETTA: The schedule for **local government elections** in Quetta has been officially announced. Elections will be held in **172 Union Councils and 641 wards** across the city, with polling set to take place in **December**. Preparations for the elections have already begun, and public notices have been displayed outside the offices of **Returning Officers (ROs)** and **District Returning Officers (DROs)**.
According to the Election Commission’s notification, **nomination papers** will be issued and received from **November 13 to 17**, while the **list of nominated candidates** will be published on **November 18**. The **scrutiny of nomination papers** will take place from **November 19 to 24**.
Candidates will have until **November 28** to file **appeals** against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers. The **Appellate Tribunal** will announce its decisions by **December 3**, followed by the publication of the **revised list of candidates** on **December 4**. After withdrawals, the **final list of candidates** will be published on **December 5**.
**Election symbols** will be allotted on **December 6**, while **polling for the local government elections** is scheduled for **Sunday, December 28**.
