Balochistan Food Authority Cracks Down on Substandard Bakery Products, Fines 34 Units

**Quetta (Qudrat Daily)** – The **Balochistan Food Authority (BFA)** continues its strict action against substandard bakery products across the province. Inspection teams conducted thorough checks in Quetta, Bliali, and Kachlak Bypass areas, targeting multiple bakeries and baking units.
During the operations, a total of **86 bakery centers** were inspected. **34 units** were fined for severe violations of food safety laws and poor hygiene standards, while **23 centers** received **warning notices** for minor deficiencies. Large quantities of stale, expired, and substandard bakery products were **seized**, and some harmful items were **destroyed on the spot**.
BFA spokesperson stated that the campaign was launched in response to **public complaints** to improve the quality of bakery products sold throughout the province. **Director General BFA, Waqar Khurshid Alam**, emphasized that substandard food poses a **serious threat to public health**, as spoiled or defective bakery products can cause various illnesses.
He assured that enforcement of **food safety laws remains a top priority**, and any bakery or production unit **endangering public health will face strict, impartial action**. The BFA also plans to **expand food safety campaigns** across the province to ensure that citizens have access to **safe, high-quality, and nutritious food**.
